Skills

My skill toolbox is versatile and constantly expanding. Find out about my experience and see some of my example works.

  • Using SolidWorks and Catia I am able to visualize and conceptualize designs in 3D. I use it as a tool in combination with 3D-printing and other manufacturing methods to creative rapid and advanced prototypes.

  • Additive manufacturing is my main tool in prototyping and creating as it is a perfect companion to my CAD skills. My knowledge encompasses FDM printing using various materials. In addition to additive manufacturing I also posses experience in laser cutting and CNC machining and wood work.

  • I posses the skills to integrate mechanical, electrical and software knowledge in order to create working prototypes. These prototypes have sound mechatronics, designed and created by me.

  • In order to effectively communicate ideas and concepts quickly, I use my visualization skills to sketch them and bring them to life. This provides a clear understanding of ideas within a team.

  • I have skills that transcend my own major discipline. Expanding my territory into programming, Electrical engineering and Mechanical engineering. Because of this I am able to effectively work together with other disciplines and guide them in the design process.

  • I have gained experience in using various Adobe creative programs to further enhance projects and do projects of my own. These include Photoshop, Premier Pro, After Effects, Illustrator and Animate.

An industrial designer with a passion for mechanics

I’m Maiky Lin, an industrial design engineer, maker and dreamer with a passion for mechanical engineering. I have always been fascinated by new technologies and expanding my skills as a maker.

My design process is about trying out new things, rapidly prototyping new ideas and solutions in order to find the best pathway forward.
